So maybe the kids are going back to school and schedules are picking up again now that the summer months are waning, and maybe we are gearing up to enjoy some changing leaves and we’re on the edge of our seats for when Starbucks releases the pumpkin spice latte (oh, is that just me?). But let’s not be fooled–we still have a full month of summer left. And we shouldn’t give it up so easily!

You Can't Iron a Wrinkled Birthday Suit

A little humor and zany adventure goes a long way in Sharon Phennah’s You Can’t Iron a Wrinkled Birthday Suit.

Cast Net Cover v.4

PrintDo romance mysteries really get your summer gears rolling? Millie West has two great go-to titles, The Cast Net and Catherine’s Cross. Plus, since they’re both set in southern states, you can probably get away with reading these well into the fall months.

Destination DWith schools starting back, maybe you’re feeling nostalgic about your old college days. Don’t get weepy–grab Destination D by Lori Beard Daily and get wrapped up in a good tale about three college friends.

If that one doesn’t do it for you, try Anytime Soon by Tamika Anytime Soon Cover v.15Christy. With a character getting ready to graduate college and facing all the challenges that time in life brings, you might not be feeling so weepy any more.

tropic squallYou know what the end of summer means: hurricane season. What better to read than Tropic Squall by Ben Cherot, a story that takes place not only during a hurricane but also on a ship! It doesn’t get much more action packed than that…

Ameera UnveiledKathleen Varn‘s Ameera Unveiled will get you inspired to start a new hobby this fall (summer is way too hot for motivation). Maybe you’ll choose belly dancing?

None of these whet your whistle? Let us know what you’re favorite last-chance summer read is.
