It has finally happened. All three of my children will be in school this year. I’ll admit there are days when I didn’t think this would ever happen. Days of endless diaper changes and toddler tantrums crushed me. But now, here we are. “What are you going to do with your time?” Everyone keeps asking me. It is like they are worried about me or something…

Well, don’t be. I have some goals for things I would like to accomplish this year. 1) Clean out toys and closets (best accomplished while the kids are not here to save their ‘favorites’ before I throw them away). 2) Work on more writing projects. I have about seventeen in mind, and just have to decide how to prioritize them. 3) Participate in some form of exercise. My first child was born nine years ago and I haven’t done much more than chase them around the back yard since then.

These goals seem very achievable, right. Have you ever had a major life change and needed some motivation along the way? Whether it is a new job, a move across country, returning to school or another important life event, it is good to have some guidance and accountability along the way.

Here are three books by WriteLife Publishing that I strongly recommend for goal setting and motivation:

working on your nowWorking on your Now by Lori Beard-Daily – Working on Your Now (WOYN) is a guide to help you plan your life’s course, no matter what stage you are in on your journey. Within its pages you will discover how to take ownership of what WOYN means to you, what WOYN looks like to you, and how you will embrace your WOYN. It provides a solution for how to get started when you are not sure where to begin. It is a wake-up call to your senses.

It does not have all your answers, but it does give insight into many of your questions. This book is not intended to be a quick fix that will inspire you for a moment and then have you go back to your same routine after you’ve finished reading it. This book is a thinking book. It is a doing book. In other words, you think about what you want in life, and then you go out and do it! YOU make it happen. So, are you ready? It’s time to start WOYN!
