A few extra days off work. A few meals with the extended family. A few extra moments of snuggle time on the couch with my kiddos. If I were Julie Andrews, I would belt, “These are a few of my favorite things.” Unfortunately I don’t have a voice like hers.
What I do have is a plethora of beautiful Christmas Books. We keep them in a box and only pull them out for the holidays. Somewhere between the boxes of ornaments and the Chevy Chase-style tangle of lights, we rediscover this box every year and dive in. Stories of all sorts entertain us with their snowy wonderland pictures: Silver Spurs the Tiny Elf, Baby Jesus, Rudolph and Frosty are all included. Some belonged to my parents when they were children and have wonderful calligraphy scripted salutations in them, “To Marion, Christmas 1934, Love Aunt Jeanne.”
This is a box of memories that changes each year as we add to it. If you also have a box of Christmas books, or you would like to start a new tradition for your children or grandchildren, here are three beautiful books from BQB Publishing to add to your collection:
All three of these wonderful titles are by Cheryl Campbell and you can read more about her here.
