Architecture:  I don’t think a lot about it unless I’m watching an HGTV show. “Load bearing walls,” the hosts keep repeating as they consider their remodel options. But now, my husband’s business is in the process of remodeling a commercial building. And we find ourselves constantly discussing client flow, tripping hazards, sight lines, privacy, flooring options and leaky ceiling tiles. All the things architects consider every day as they build or remodel a project.

architect-200x300Architecture has been Karen Otis’s passion for more than 25 years. It infiltrates every part of her life . . . it molds her perceptions as it has become a way of thinking and seeing the world with a unique perspective. Having created and built hundreds of amazingly beautiful buildings, she knows the creative Architectural Method (AM) inside and out.

Years after enduring a painful divorce that left her life and that of her kids in shambles, Karen found the courage and insight to take what she knew best—architecture—and apply the same creative AM to rebuilding her life. That inspired idea changed everything. By rebuilding her life, she found clarity, inspiration, and a newly defined purposed. She built for herself a life inspired. Soon, she was sharing the process she had gone through with others who weren’t architects and finding that it worked for them as well. Motivated by her newfound insight and purpose, Karen began to change people’s lives, working with clients as a life coach, creating transformational workshops, and writing the book Be the Architect of Your Life: Design, Build, and Start Living a Life Inspired.
