I had a headache one day last week that wouldn’t quit. It was the kind that splits skulls and pops eyeballs. While I was drinking my 104th glass of water, to make sure I was totally hydrated (because dehydration is the leading trigger of headaches for me) I wondered what causes headaches. The day started like every other with the same morning routine, same food and drink, same schedule… but the headache persisted.

The body holds many mysteries and a book like Tina Zion’s Become a Medical Intuitive can help readers learn to feel more connected with their bodies and those of others.

BecomeMedicalIntuitiveIn addition to writing this book, Zion has developed a complete weekend course to teach the intuitive skills that she is passionate about. She has recently been in Florida, Michigan, Illinois as well as New Zealand and Canada. She is a 4th generation psychic, registered nurse, Gestalt trained counselor, certified in clinical hypnotherapy, and blends all of her training and experience into her training and her writing.

You can learn more about Zion’s training and courses here.

And here is more about Become a Medical Intuitive: The Complete Developmental Course

This book provides a complete training experience to become a medical intuitive. Each chapter advances you, step-by-step, to intensify your psychic abilities and develop your x-ray perception. A medical background is not necessary to excel as a medical intuitive. “Become a Medical Intuitive” provides you with the following (and more):

  • How to take charge of your energy field;
  • How imagination and intuition work together;
  • See, feel, and sense the entire person on all levels;
  • Receive the pure essence of someone’s life story;
  • Inform without diagnosing;
  • Actual case studies and assessments to learn from.

You are already intuitive. It is only a matter of noticing all of the information you are receiving in a different way. The medical intuitive’s life is feeling, sensing, knowing, and perceiving on multiple levels with all of your senses. When you have completed the course contained in this book, you will have truly developed x-ray vision.

Zion has also written a book for Reiki students, teachers and practitioners:

ReikiTeachersManualIt will enrich the classes that current teachers are giving and gives the new teacher confidence and pride when providing that very first class. Practitioners will have a greater understanding of how to apply Reiki and what is actually happening during a session. The Reiki Teacher’s Manual is a precise step-by-step guide to instruct all three levels or degrees of Reiki.

This manual and its format provide:

  • Consecutive steps with time approximations to make sure you teach all the information and still have plenty of time for the hands on practice sessions;
  • How to increase the power of your attunement;
  • How to teach the attunement to others;
  • Goals for different segments of each class;
  • 15 handouts that are concise, informative, and can be copied from the book;
  • Guidelines in opening your own Reiki practice;
  • Information regarding state licensing needs;
  • How to avoid issues with physicians and the medical community.

All books by BQB and WriteLife Publishing are available from Amazon, B&N or can be ordered from your favorite local bookstore.

Growing up in a house full of teachers, I have always loved learning new things. It is probably the biggest reason I read all the time. Whether it is in-flight magazines, novels, newspapers, blogs or cereal boxes, my brain craves the kind of insight I find from reading.

With normal time constraints of adult life (work, home and family) it isn’t always possible to take a class on subjects I’m interested in. But with books, even if I only squeeze in a few pages a day, the entire world is at my fingertips.

wolvesRecently I read Decade of the Wolf by Douglas W. Smith and Gary Ferguson. This non-fiction book about the process, successes and fails of returning wolves to Yellowstone National Park gave me insight into a place I’d never visited. Reading the descriptions of the wolves, the biologists and their careful planning made me much more aware of all the elements involved in the environmental issues of reintroduction. From breeding cycles, to collar tracking to rancher’s concerns, the authors shared their knowledge and expertise.

So, if you also consider yourself a lifelong learner, here are a few books on a wide variety of subjects that I recommend. Challenge yourself – try something new!

To learn more about Russia:

russiaRussia in Private by Richard Yatzeck From the very beginning of Russia’s history, discord has been prevalent thanks to the ruinous jealousy of the nobles, the Pecheneg and Tatar invasions, and lost wars (or brutally costly victories, as in 1812 or 1945). Autocratic government with serfdom, famine, and gangsterism have been the Russian lot. Two questions: “Who is to blame?” and “What is to be done?”, have plagued life in that one-sixth of the world’s land surface since its conception, roughly 988 AD.

During ten tours of Russia, between 1961 and 1997 (nearly thirty years in all), Richard Yatzeck was generously included in the political, kitchen table conversations concerning these very questions. Public discussion of such matters has never been safe. Russia in Private is an attempt to plumb the abyss between Russian and Western life, and explain how Russians understand and bear their history.

To learn more about Relationships:

He Said, She Said, I SaidHe Said, She Said, I Said by Barbara J. Peters, RN, LPC In He Said, She Said, I Said, couples’ counselor Barbara J. Peters breaks down possible perceptions and misconceptions in seven key relationship areas: communication, trust, forgiveness, intimacy, acceptance, friendship, and love, by using common sense, wisdom, and some professional advice to open up the possibility for a different approach.

To learn more about Kindness:

secretKindness-590x600Secret Kindness Agents by Ferial Pearson Moved by the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, Ferial Pearson wondered if a simple act of kindness could change a life. She thought of the school where she taught and the students she guided every day and wondered, what would happen if we started secretly carrying out small acts of kindness in school? Could a modest act of compassion really change the course of a life? She posed the question to her students. They didn’t have the answers but they were willing to find out.
